Your snippets stay on your computer

BrainRAM works offline and needs no account. This page lists everything the app and this website send, and how to turn it off.

What stays on your computer

Everything you put into BrainRAM is saved in a settings file on your computer (on Windows: %APPDATA%\brainram\) and is never uploaded:

The weekly usage report

About once a week, BrainRAM sends a short report to brainram.app so we can tell how many people use the app and which features matter. It contains:

FieldExample
Install IDa random ID made on first launch, not linked to you or your device
Install date2026-10-22
App version, operating system0.2.0, windows
Language, time zone, screen sizeen-US, Europe/Berlin, 1920x1080
Number of pages and snippets4 pages, 37 snippets
Snippet types used20 text, 12 code, 5 links
Grid sizes, theme name, number of custom themes24-cell grid, "midnight", 1
Setup answerswhether you finished setup, and the roles you picked (for example "developer")

It never contains snippet names or content, page names, file paths, your email or anything you typed. We store the latest report per install on our server (Cloudflare) and count installs and active users with PostHog, an analytics service. We do not store your IP address with it.

To turn it off: open BrainRAM Settings → General → Analytics and switch off “Share anonymous usage data”. Nothing is sent after that.

Other times the app goes online

Buying Pro

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller and processes your card; we never see card details. Lemon Squeezy sends us your email address and order number. We use them to create your license key, which we email to you through Resend and keep so we can resend it if you lose it.

This website

brainram.app uses PostHog to count visits, which pages are viewed and how many people click Download. PostHog sets a cookie to tell repeat visits apart. Browser extensions that block trackers will block it, and the site works fine without it.

If you subscribe to updates or join a waitlist, your email goes to Beehiiv, our newsletter service (Teams waitlist emails are kept on our own server). Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling BrainRAM and deleting the folder above removes everything on your computer. To delete anything we hold (a usage report, a shared page, your purchase email), email [email protected]. For a usage report, include your install ID, which is in the settings file as install_id.
